I was planning to go to the Technique Museum to see some inventions and designs. I stopped at Checkpoint Charlie because of my sister Clyde’s suggestion. It turns out that this museum chronicles many interesting techniques!
We have done it before, and we must do it again. Kudos to the ingenious Berliners who escaped or helped people escape the Communist East. It’s hard to imagine a worse economy than our present one, but Cold War East Europe was the pits. So much invention and good will came out of the efforts to liberate those left behind. There was the 28 year old chemist who created a mini-submarine to propel him through the Baltic Sea. There were many tricked-out automobiles to conceal passengers. And much tunneling.
The hard hard times in which we find ourselves. We can find a way out. Now is an opportunity to THINK AND BUILD!

Hands down, one of my ultimate experiences was being in Berlin when the Wall fell.
Nice to revisit through your eyes.
So thanks and see you soon.
Cheers
Great photos and commentary Matt! Keep them coming! Mom
actually i took that last picture of christine.
Roman says “Can I play with him (Matt)? With my Mario toy?”
Love the photos
Matt I am so glad that you visited Checkpoint Charlie…fascinating wasn’t it?
That’s where I saw Tom Brokaw interviewing Berliners. Christine and I had so many memorable experiences in Germany. The people there were incredibly hospitable…remarkable really.
I have pics of Easterners in their little box cars cruising into Western territory on the autobahn…also took a great pic of Christine drinking a gigantic beer between 2 reunited brothers at Haufbraus in Munich. You are documenting your travels well. I’m wondering where you are…Italy I guess?
